What the service is

Transcripts turns a recording into a clean, readable transcript in the language it was actually spoken in — including Arabic and Hebrew, right-to-left, and the way people around you really talk rather than a textbook version of it.

You can record in the browser, upload a file you already have, or send one from your phone’s share sheet. Transcripts you save stay in your library, on every device you sign in from, until you delete them.

What we promise is the work, not a miracle: transcription is a machine estimate and it makes mistakes, more of them on poor audio, crosstalk and heavy background noise. Speaker separation is optional and imperfect by nature. We say so here for the same reason we say so on the product — a transcript you have to trust blindly is worth less than one you can check.

The plan, the trial, and what you are charged

Pro is $8.99 per month, tax included — the price you see is the price that leaves your account, with no separate tax line added at checkout.

Eligible new customers get 7 days free, with up to 120 minutes of transcription during the trial. A card is required to start it. If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged at all. “Eligible new customers” means exactly what it says: a returning customer is charged immediately and is not offered a second free week — we would rather write that here than let anyone discover it on a statement.

• 800 minutes of transcription each month on Pro. The meter counts audio you transcribe, and higher-accuracy models count double, which the app shows you before you spend them rather than after.
• Up to 90 minutes in a single recording. Longer audio is split and re-joined; the limit is on one file, not on your month.
• Unused minutes do not roll over into the next month.

Prices and allowances can change. If they do, the change applies from your next billing period and never retroactively, and you will be told before it takes effect — not after, and not by a line on an invoice.

Cancelling, refunds, and getting your work out

Cancel whenever you like, from inside the app. Billing opens the customer portal, and cancelling there stops the next charge. You keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you already paid — cancelling does not cut the month short and does not delete anything.

Your transcripts are yours to take. Copy or download any transcript from the reader, at any time, on any plan, including after you cancel. There is no export fee and no locked format holding your own words hostage.

Refunds are reviewed one at a time against the purchase and the law that applies to you, through Support. Polar processes any approved refund as merchant of record. We do not advertise an automatic refund the service cannot honour, and we do not hide behind a policy when something genuinely went wrong on our side.

Polar is the merchant of record for every subscription and payment. Your card details go to Polar and never to us — we do not receive or store a full card number. Send payment or identity documents to Polar only, never through Support.

Your side of it

Your account is yours alone. Keep your sign-in to yourself; anything done from your account is treated as done by you.

Recording other people. Whether you may record a conversation is decided by the law where you and the other people are, not by this service. Getting whatever consent that law requires, before you upload, is your responsibility.

Age. Transcripts is not intended for children under 16. Do not create an account or upload recordings if you are under 16.

What not to do with it. Do not use the service to break the law, to upload recordings you have no right to, or to attack, overload or reverse the service itself. We may suspend an account doing any of those, and we will tell the account holder why.

Availability, changes, and the honest limits

We work to keep the service up and improving, and we deploy carefully — but no online service is perfect, and we do not promise uninterrupted availability. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer law that applies where you live.

The service changes as it improves. Changes that affect what you are charged follow the rule above: next period, never retroactively, told in advance. Changes to these terms are dated at the foot of this page, and a material one is announced rather than quietly swapped in.
